Firefiighters were called to a house in Rickmansworth after a fire started in a bedroom last night.
Crews attended the address in Berry Lane at around 6pm after the fire alarm alerted the two occupants to the blaze.
Firefighter James Johnson, from White Watch at Rickmansworth fire station, said a crew wearing breathing masks went in and located the fire in the smoke-filled room with a thermal imaging camera before extinguishing it with a hose reel.
He added: "There was damage to the bedroom and a bit of smoke damage to some of the other rooms."
