School marks anniversary of namesake's death
Students from St Margaret’s School in Bushey have celebrated the school’s namesake, with a music-themed coin trail challenge.
On Friday November 16, students brought spare change into school, competing in their school houses; Wesley, Nicholson, Raleigh and Gordon, to produce coin picture artwork. The event was organised to mark the death of St Margaret, who instigated religious reform, striving to make the worship and practices of the church in Scotland conform to those of Rome.
Once the coin trail had been judged and the winning house announced, the students collected the coins which will be donated to the Muze Trust, a charity dedicated to providing social and cultural benefits of a musical education to large numbers of the world’s poorest children.
The day at the school in Merry Hill Road was concluded with a grandparents’ tea part and sing-a-long.
