Golfers at Bushey Country Club have raised more than £3,000 for MacMillan Cancer Care in 2012.

Captain of the men's golfing section at the club, Malcolm Cohen, presented the latest installment of the money raised.

The money was raised and collected through a series of events including members’ competitions, functions, and local company sponsorships since April.

More money will be raised by the Club Captain before the end of his tenure in March including a charity coffee morning on February 2 when the club’s newly refurbished café will be unveiled.

Malcolm said: "It has been a fantastic year for golf at Bushey Country Club and we are delighted to present a cheque for such a large sum of money to MacMillan Cancer Care which has been raised by the Club through a series of events for members and sponsorships from local companies.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to all our members, the local companies and staff at the Club who have helped us raise such a fantastic amount."
