Stephenson Way in Watford closed on New Year's day after woman threatens to jump from bridge

Police had to close a busy road in Watford on New Year’s day after a woman threatened to throw herself from a bridge.
Officers were called to Stephenson Way at around 3.15pm after the woman was spotted by passers-by on the edge of the bridge over the road.
The road had to be closed off in both directions.
The woman was later talked off the edge by officers and taken to Watford General Hospital.
The road was reopened at around 4.30pm.
