EastEnders christening scene filmed at St James’s Church in Bushey High Street

A Bushey church was thrust into the limelight on Tuesday, after it was selected as a backdrop for popular television soap EastEnders.

St James’s Church in Bushey High Street was given a starring role in the BBC show, acting as the venue for character Lexi Billie Mitchell’s christening.

Soap stars including Perry Fenwick (Billy Mitchell), Danielle Harold (Lola Pearce), Jamie Borthwick (Jay Mitchell), Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) and Ann Mitchell (Cora Cross) were all spotted during filming at the church back in October.

At the time, speculation was rife among residents and visitors to the town as to what storyline was being filmed at the church, renamed St Cuthbert’s for the show.

Some correctly guessed that a christening was being shot, after spotting baby Lexi being carried to and from the church.

This is old news, as it was filmed weeks 'before' Christmas.

We see Amie is a fan of EastEnders then.

Chav-tastic! Once a sleepy, quiet village - Now, associated with a program that normalises rude, lazy speech and confrontational behaviour in our kids!

Does make me cringe.

Another fan..

Most TV programmes have caused behaviour problems with kids and music too. But it is also caused by bad parenting skills too.
