Keen cyclists, swimmers and runners have been given the opportunity to train alongside GB elite triathlete, Vanessa Raw at a school in Bushey.
The elite sports star took time out of her hectic schedule to train more than 50 sport enthusiasts on Saturday (January 5), in St Margaret's School’s sports centre, at the day-long Train’athlon aimed at encouraging people to take up triathlons.
Vanessa said: "The triathlon is a fantastic sport and it was great to see so many newcomers getting hooked on it.
"The participants were really keen to learn new techniques and pick up tips on how to train for a triathlon."
Ms Raw was also joined by former elite triathlete, Tanja Slater and Sydney Olympian Sian Brice who were on hand to train the could-be sporting champions.
Guests also received tips from Leda Cox, one of Britain’s most experienced cycling professionals from the last decade, who helped participants master dismounting at speed and riding in a group.
Participants were also shown how to take care of their bikes by St Albans bike maintenance specialist Chris Morris, and how to avoid injuries by Adam Meakins from Perform for Sport.
