A motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries following a crash on the M25 motorway yesterday.
It is believed that a Yamaha motorcycle first hit a white Mercedes E class - possibly an E63 AMG or E63 AMG Sport - and then a Vauxhall Insignia, as traffic stopped in the outside lane.
Police are looking for the driver of a Mercedes car following the incident, which took place at 1.25pm between junctions 16 and 17.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his forties, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington with serious head injuries where he remains in a critical condition.
Sergeant Sam Cordingley, investigating the incident, said: "This was an extremely serious collision which has left a man in a critical condition.
"It also caused significant delays on the M25.
"We know that the motorcycle collided with the Insignia and need to ascertain if it was also in collision with the Mercedes E Class.
"I would like to stress that if the driver of the Mercedes E Class is a witness they are not in any trouble but we do need to speak with them as part of the investigation."
If you have any information you can telephone sergeant Cordingley on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
