An Abbots Langley schoolgirl has been found dead at her home this morning.

However, I feel bound to make the observation that this is a classic example, which I have warned about before, of the inherent dangers of social networking and allowing readers to make comments in public which may not always be appropriate.
The allegations of bullying are serious and will no doubt form part of an enquiry into this unfortunate girl's death. Indeed, we have not been told the precise nature of how she died but it may be that there will eventually have to be an inquest. If so, that is the appropriate place in which to air such matters and, if this happens, no doubt the WO will report the facts and the result in due course.
I feel obliged to advise posters, for their own good, that it is legally unsafe to make allegations as yet not officially substantiated. In the pre-Internet days I very much doubt an editor would have published such material in the form of "Letters to the Editor", but now it seems that readers' comments containing allegations can be published willy-nilly without legal restrictions or checking - a dangerous trend in my view, as I have said.
