By Mike Wright, Chief Reporter
Elderly residents in West Watford are being warned to be vigilant after two attempted distraction burglaries in the area.
Police officers said in the first incident, on Monday January 14, a male gained entry to the home of an elderly lady in Chester Road after asking to check her boiler and radiators.
Then on Friday a male attempted to enter a property in Belgrave Avenue claiming to be checking gas and water supplies in the street.
Residents who spot suspicious activity in the area are asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency telephone number 101.

"Yes, and before I knew it the little perishers had left taking my precious allotments with them. They said they'd only come to build a hospital" - Mrs A Lottment-Holder from West Watford.
Police are looking for two suspects, a scrawny man and a woman using the names Dotty and Clarkie and wearing yellow rosettes. The public are advised not to approach or vote for the suspects who are described as dangerous.
