Heavy traffic in north Watford at the junction of Rickmansworth Road and Beechen Grove

There is heavy traffic in north Watford this morning, after a lorry stopped on the roundabout at the top of town.

Hertfordshire police were called to the junction of Rickmansworth Road and Beechen Grove at 9.20am, where a lorry was parked.

The driver revealed his "tachograph" device, which logs the number of hours driven, had run out due to heavy traffic.

The number of hours a lorry driver can spend behind the wheel is strictly governed by the EU.

The blockage is expected to be cleared by 9.40am.

What does the EU think about stupid selfish idiotic lorry drivers.

Hope the police gave him a ticket - for crimes against common sense!

I do think lorry drivers should have a limit when it comes to driving hours - but some jobs-worths really do take to 'P'

The driver has probably broke the rules more than once before, maybe on last chance, otherwise would have parked in bus stop round the corner. Panicked.
