Students to take part in Holocaust Memorial Day service at Hertsmere Borough Council

Students from a school in Bushey will take part in a service to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, held at Hertsmere Borough Council.

The Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Pat Strack, will be joined by councillors, local religious leaders and pupils from secondary schools across the borough, including Purcell School on Monday.

The service in Elstree Way, Borehamwood, will include a two-minute silence, a short presentation on the genocide in Rwanda, and music from pupils of Purcell School in Bushey.

The idea behind Holocaust Memorial Day is to share the memory of the millions who have been murdered in the Holocaust, and subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
