Business students from schools across south west Hertfordshire set up stalls in the Harlequin to road-test their business ideas over the weekend.

Shoppers had a chance to peruse the wares of the real companies, set up and run by pupils from dozens of schools over Saturday and Sunday, as part of Young Enterprise Company programme.

At the end of each day prizes were handed to some of the businesses.

Fuller Grower from Watford Grammar School for Boys won best overall company on Sunday and Embrace from the Royal Masonic School for Girls clinched the title on Saturday.

Believe from Watford Grammar School for Boys were named as the outstanding year 10 group, and they also claimed the award for special achievement.

Reborn, from Rickmansworth School, won the accolade for best stand and Breakspeare School won a special achievement award.

Katy Burke, Young Enterprise manager for Watford and Dacorum, said: "The event exceeded the expectations of the Harlequin’s management, our judges, and the Young Enterprise volunteers. The level of professionalism, innovation and enthusiasm among our students was outstanding."
