The Parish of Radlett has welcomed its new vicar, following the retirement of reverend William Hogg.

Reverend canon Javaid Iqbal will take on the role of team rector for the Anglican team ministry of Aldenham, Radlett and Shenley.

He is a senior and experienced priest from the diocese of Leicester, and has taught in Pakistan.

Reverend Paul Bayes, Bishop of Hertford, said: "Both the Archdeacon of St Albans and I are delighted that Canon Javaid Iqbal will be coming to the diocese as Rector of the Aldenham, Radlett and Shenley team ministry.

"His family has made enormous contributions to the life of the church in the diocese of Leicester, and we look forward to welcoming him here and to receiving the richness of his experience as he joins us."
