Cat hotel application turned down

A feline fanatic is appealing after her application to turn the garden of her Carpenders Park home into a luxury cat hotel was turned down.

Manju Anand, 41, appealed to the secretary of state for the environment after Three Rivers District Council’s planning committee refused her proposal, saying it would result in "an unacceptable level of disturbance" to neighbours.

The proposal to provide accommodation for 16 cats in six boarding pens in Carew Way attracted five objections from residents, on the grounds of increased traffic, smell and a reduction in value of neighbouring properties.

Cats are a menace and cat owners should be compelled to have them collared, with owners name and address, with a bell to help protect wildlife, and owner to be financially responslble for any mess/damage caused to others gardens

The plan didn't have a cat in hell's chance of going through in the first place!

I'll get my coat...

oh please, get a life.

Any responsible owner would have a collar yes and also have their animal chipped.

As for the bell, i am an animal lover but understand that its natural for cats to catch mice and birds. Its all part of wildlife ! Or do you expect cats to never go out the door?

Irresponsible pet owners are ones who allow their dogs to mess on pavements and in parks and allow uncontrollable "trophy dogs" to roam the steets.

Stevemag, Lets just consider you have just posted. 'Its all part of wildlife!' Really. Domestic Cats are far from being part of 'wildlife'

All animals have wild instincts. Not really a pet person, Prefer people for companyTBH. Wouldn't have a cat. I tend to think that they are for ****'s.

Cats are just nasty, vicious killers who need to be controlled, by what means is up to the individual.
