Watford Half Marathon today

Thousands of joggers and runners will line up at the start of the Watford Half Marathon today, before the starting gun sounds at 10.30am.

The 13.1 mile race takes participants on an undulating route through Cassiobury Park and the town, and offers runners the chance to raise money for The Peace Hospice.

The course profile rises from just under 60 meters to about 110 meters at the half way point, and then follows a largely downhill run to the finish, with the exception of a small hill after mile 12.

The current record is held by Tomas Abyu who ran the route in 64.50 minutes. The first place finisher will receive £500.

One of the great events in Watford's calendar put on by Watford Harriers in the superb setting of cassiobury Pk. As a town we have so much to be proud of from our local volunteers.
