Fire crews called to tackle poisonous fumes at factory in Greycaine Road, north Watford

Fire crews were called to a north Watford factory this morning after plastic got stuck in machinery and started giving off noxious fumes.

A worker at the factory in Greycaine Road called the emergency services following the incident at around 6am.

Two firefighters from Watford Fire Station went into the building with breathing apparatus.

Crew commander Danny Murton said: "It was heavily smoke logged as the plastic had melted on the machinery. We damped down the area."

Fire crews were at the factory for around 45 minutes.
