The Peace Hospice’s Director of Fundraising and Communications, Paul Gauntlett, is set to retire at the end of March following a four year tenure with the charity.
Paul joined the Peace Hospice in the spring of 2009 having spent the previous 20 years in the voluntary sector working at director level for several national charities including the NSPCC, Samaritans and most recently, The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
During his time at the Peace Hospice, Paul was instrumental in overseeing the fundraising, trading and communication elements within the business.
Hospice Chief Executive, Sue Plummer said: "Since his arrival at the Hospice Paul has played a pivotal role in helping us navigate through an extremely tough economic climate.
"Paul not only helped in leading the fundraising team through this tough period but he was instrumental in helping the Hospice substantially widen its product offer.
"Paul additionally oversaw the opening of a number of new shops including our flagship Hospice shop which is located in the centre of Watford high street."
Sue added: "I would like to thank Paul for his leadership and support over the past four years and I would like to wish him every future success in his retirement."
Reflecting on his time with the Hospice, Paul said: "I could not have joined the Peace Hospice at a more difficult economic time, but working with a great team of colleagues and with the support of our fantastic supporters, we have been able to ensure that the Hospice has continued to be there for those who need our services.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Hospice and feel confident that I leave a good legacy for the Hospice as it moves forward."
