Church to hold fundraising concert for Raising the Roof appeal
2:30pm Thursday 7th February 2013 in News
By Rebecca Perring, Reporter
A Leavesden church that is raising money to install a brand new roof is inviting residents to enjoy a fundraising concert.
The congregation of All Saints Church, in All Saints Crescent, will hold the concert performance of Stainer's Crucifixion, as part of their Raising the Roof appeal to renew their original church roof.
An inspection by Chris Davey, the church vicar, last year found substantial amounts of plaster had fallen to the floor, because of badly cracked tiles.
It is to cost £250,000 for a complete renewal of the roof and members of the congregation have been organising fundraising events every month. The concert, conducted by Robin Walker and accompanied by Joe Leslie, will take place on Saturday, March 2 at 7pm at the church.
Come and sing sessions will also take place during the day from 9.30am.
Tickets cost £10 and £7 concessions to go towards Raising the Roof. To buy tickets contact 01923 661862.
