Singing and dancing pupils from a school in Kings Langley are gearing up to perform a musical comedy at their school.

The Rudolf Steiner School will perform Lucky Hugh, which has been especially created for the 120 pupil strong cast at the school in Langley Hill.

The school’s English teacher, Robin Cook and Julian Mincham, who is well known by pupils for his piano accompaniments to the films of Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin wrote and directed the performance for the cast members.

Mr Cook said: "It gives the pupils a tremendous sense of achievement and feeling of community to be involved in something of this scale.

"They prepare it all in just six weeks - the chorus, set production and front-of-house teams playing as important a part as the principals."

Performances will take place on Thursday, February 28, Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £7 concessions and £5 for children, which will go towards funds for the school.

The final Saturday performance, will also offer a VIP option for reserved seats and champagne interval, which will cost £15.
