Train trip thrill for pupils at Breakspeare School in Gallows Hill Lane

Pupils from a school in Abbots Langley are to make their first ever trip by train today.

The group of children aged between 11 and 15, from Breakspeare School in Gallows Hill Lane will be setting off from Watford Junction this morning to arrive at the Abbey Flyer Line as part of a school module.

For the group of pupils, who have severe and profound learning difficulties, it is the first time they have ever travelled on a train.

It is hoped the project will develop their independence skills by understanding travel.

The children will be provided with goody bags by The Abbey Line Community Rail Partnership as a memento of their day.
