Pupils thrilled with first train ride Pupils thrilled with first train ride

Children from a school in Abbots Langley have stepped on a train for the very first time.

The pupils aged between 11 and 15, from Breakspeare School in Gallows Hill Lane set off from Watford Junction on Friday to arrive at St Albans Abbey station.

For the children, who have severe and profound learning difficulties, it was the first time they have ever travelled on a train.

Emma Marsh, class teacher said: "The train ride meant different things for each pupil. Up until the trip we were preparing the children on how to get the train, get their ticket ready and being on time. "It was the first time for all of them and they were really excited. "
