New pothole reporting system promises 'better customer experience' says Hertfordshire County Council

New pothole reporting system promises 'better customer experience' New pothole reporting system promises 'better customer experience'

An online pothole reporting system for Hertfordshire has been relaunched promising residents a "better customer experience" than its much-criticised predecessor.

Hertfordshire County Council said the new system is more reliable with an "improved look and feel". It also promised to make it quicker and easier for people to report faults such as potholes and problem streetlights.

The relaunch comes after the previous system was branded "useless" by opposition Liberal Democrat councillors.

Last year the council’s Conservative administration said it would be seeking compensation from the company behind the old reporting system, Serco.

Councillor Stuart Pile, the cabinet member for highways and transport, said he hoped the new system would encourage more people to report road faults.

He said: "This system has been developed in response to what people were telling us they wanted. It is a significant improvement on what we had before and we hope this will encourage more people to report faults online."

People using the new system are encouraged to give feedback using the GovMetric system built into the website.
