District's Lib Dems to demand action from Hertfordshire County Council

Liberal Democrat councillors in Three Rivers will call on Hertfordshire County Council to rectify problems with highway and street light repairs.

The motion, proposed by Councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst and seconded by councillors Steve Drury and Sara Bedford, urges the county council to take "the strongest and quickest possible action" to ensure problems are resolved as soon as possible at no additional cost to the Council Tax payer.

The move comes following a string of complaints by councillors and residents relating to the speed and quality of road, footway and street light repairs since the contract was taken over by Ringway.

The motion is due to be discussed at the full council meeting next Tuesday (February 26).
