Golf charity day to be held in aid of Herts Air Ambulance
12:10pm Thursday 21st February 2013 in News By Anna Slater
Golfers will test out their swing to help tee up some cash for charity.
Hertsmere Mayor Pat Strack and Borehamwood Councillor Sandra Parnell are calling on golfing champions across the borough to help raise cash for Herts Air Ambulance.
But the pair need people and businesses across the borough to club together and sponsor the holes to raise money as possible for the Mayor’s charity of the year.
Barclays Bank, in Shenley Road, Borehamwood has already promised to double the amount raised on the day.
Mayor Strack said: "I am absolutely excited about it. Hopefully the sun will be shining and everyone will have a good day.
"It is such a good way to raise cash for charity, and I hope we can rally up as many people as possible to take part and have fun with it.
"I am a great believer in the good work the Herts Air Ambulance do and am really pleased to be supporting this good cause again.
"I am looking forward to seeing how much cash we can raise."
Tickets cost £200 per team of four, and they will have the chance to test out their golfing talents before the tournament starts.
At the end of the day, the winning team will be presented with a prize and a raffle draw will also be held.
The golfing fun day will be held on Friday, April 19 at the Bushey Golf and Country Club, but tickets need to be booked in advance.
To book your tickets or to sponsor a hole, phone Pat Strack on 0208 386 3151 or Sandra Parnell on 0208 953 0832.
