A 53-year-old carer from Watford was found dead in her home after suffering a heart attack.
Sarah Veronica Johnson was found on November 29 in Fern Way by the police, who were called after friends and relatives had not seen Ms Johnson for some time.
An inquest into her death, held in Hatfield yesterday (Thursday), heard how PC Thomas Montgomery attended and found the property was secure and there was post behind the door. It was also cold and there were no lights on.
He found Ms Johnson in the back bedroom, lying face down on the floor. There were no signs of injury or any sort of struggle.
Ms Johnson was taken away for a post mortem which found she was taking sleeping pills and had heart disease.
He registered the cause of Ms Johnson’s death as acute cardiac failure due to hypertensive heart disease. Coroner Edward Thomas recorded death by natural causes.
