Abbots Langley to show off its 'vibrant community'
Residents in Abbots Langley will have the opportunity to engage with local organisations at the village’s first community showcase.
The community showcase aims to help residents gain a better understanding of parish council work and engage with local organisations.
Eighteen groups have taken up the offer to showcase their organisation's contribution to life in the parish, their main activities and recent achievements. There will also be groups representing performing arts, sports, gardening and charities.
Chairman of the parish council, Councillor Keith Williams said: "I wanted to give these groups the opportunity to show off to the wider community the vital contribution they make to life in a vibrant community like Abbots Langley."
"I hope that residents will take this opportunity to see what local organisations are offering and they may be inspired to take up an activity that they had not previously considered".
This will take place during the annual parish meeting and grant awards will also be presented along with the Civic Awards for 2012 and 2013, which will recognise special achievements of organisations and individuals.
The meeting will take place in Tanners Wood Hall, School Mead on Wednesday, March 6. Doors will be open at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.
