Sparks were flying for pupils in South Oxhey as science fever gripped the area.

Warren Dell Primary School played host to students from five other schools - Central, Laurance Haines, Beechfield, Chater, Berrygrove and Highwood schools.

The students came together to compete in the Science Challenge Cup, which is held at a different local school each half term.

They used their scientific knowledge to build bridges, drop eggs without breaking them and shoot corks long distances using Alka-Seltzer.

Jenny Morley, Warren Dell headteacher, said: "It teaches problem solving and working as a team and the children enjoy it."

This term’s events were judged by Northwick Ward councillor Ty Harris.
