Police have released a CCTV image after staff in a north Watford betting shop were robbed at knife point.

Officers said on Wednesday January 16 at around 4.55pm a man in a helmet entered Coral Racing in Courtlands Drive, approached the counter, pulled out a knife and demanded a member of staff hand over money.

The suspect then put the money in a plastic bag before making off on a moped in the direction of Hempstead Road.

Investigator Abigail Bianco of Watford Police Station said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this offence to contact me with information.

“The offender has disguised his face with a crash helmet and I would particularly like to appeal to anyone who may recognise the helmet, as it has distinctive markings, to also make contact.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Abigail Bianco via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number C4/13/119.

As soon as I saw the photo, I thought he looks young, about 18.
Then when I read he made his getaway on a moped it just confirmed what I thought.
Most probably from the college.

Yes, It was a bit of a throwaway comment but It was stated he rode off In the direction of Hempstead Rd, hence possibly a student.
And as for stupid, I don't think so!
