Let's see, why so few in top jobs, why so much pay inequality, why so low rates of rape convictions....just for starters, mind

From personal experience I also know that problems are all relative. I'm aware that there are some people in true desperate need in this country and that in some places women still are treated differently in the work place say in terms of opportunity and pay then male colleagues. However problems are all relative, in this country you would be deemed poor if you have to buy your clothes from discount retailers, if you cant afford an LCD tv, or your games console is a couple of years old, or your car seven years old or if you cant afford a holiday.
For billions of people around the world they only have the clothes they are standing in to wear, they often wonder where the next meal is going to come from, they die from easily preventable or curable illnessess, their life is totally about eaking out a miserable living and as such they don’t even know there is such a thing as time off let alone holidays.
I'm not saying this because I don’t think the relative problems in this country shouldn’t be tackled but because I think it would be wrong to ignore the plight of fellow human beings around the world

The louts on our own street corners are invariably terminally stupid, and in many parts of Africa finding the next meal leaves little time for learning. Sadly that is a catch 22 situation whereby the tribal or government leaders do the thinking for the people, which keeps them firmly where they are.
Keeping women 'in their place' as so many societies do, including our own 'Western' society (Female pope this time anyone?) holds societies back.
So I think talking about the issue is good for everyone.
