Talented students were given a string Masterclass at Aldenham School on Wednesday.

Seven young musicians joined professional performer Alison Wyatt for the special class.

Each student was given feedback on their solo playing of a variety of works from classical composers Handel, Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi.

Abigail James, 12, participated in the Masterclass and had the chance to show Alison her progression in the violin.

Abigail's violin was donated to the school by former pupil Richard Schooley and has been identified as being made by Paul Voigt.

The youngester said: "This is my first full size violin, I’m lucky enough to have been lent it by my School and have written to Mr Schooley to say thank you."

Other Masterclass participants included Takuma Furutani, 17, Taishi Furutani, 16, Joon Han, 11, Seul Han, 11, Lydia Andrews, 18, Alastair Heald, 18, and Nicholas Field, 17.
