Poet Laureate visits St Clement Danes school

The Queen’s personal poet performed in front of pupils in a Chorleywood school.

Carol Ann Duffy, the Poet Laureate, read a number of her poems at St Clement Danes school in Chenies Road yesterday evening (March 11).

Her work is understood to appear on the English syllabus and is studied by pupils in the school.

Ms Duffy became the first ever female Poet Laureate when she was appointed by The Queen in 2009.
