A Bushey scout group received a £500 donation from a local pub landlord at their AGM on Wednesday night.
Michael Duffy, of The Three Crowns in Bushey Heath, called into the 1st Bushey Heath Scout Group’s meeting to present the cheque.
Michael, regional winner of Enterprise Inns ‘Community Hero 2012 Awards’, was awarded £5,000 to share amongst charities and good causes.
He said he decided to donate £500 to his local scout group because he was a scout for many years himself.
He added: "It was on scout camps that I first learnt to cook and I still make a living from it today.
"Scouts taught me self sufficiency and so many other important lessons in life and this is my way of saying thank you."
Scout Leader, Chris Wright, said: "The money will be used to buy tents and camping equipment so more of our Cubs & Scouts can experience and learn from a night under canvas."
