Vicar launches online appeal for donkey
A Rickmansworth preacher has turned to Twitter to ask the public to help find a live donkey to star in a church procession.
Vicar of Rickmansworth Deborah Snowball wants to hear from anyone with an available donkey to be used in this weekend’s Palm Sunday procession.
The donkey will be the star of the show and at 10am will lead the procession through the church yard and into St Mary's Church.
This morning (Monday) Reverend Snowball Tweeted: "Anyone local to Rickmansworth got a donkey we could borrow for our Palm Sunday Procession this Sunday at 10am? Short walk thru churchyard."
Speaking afterwards she said: "We put out something last year in the church newsletter but didn’t hear anything back so we thought ‘why not try Twitter?’.
"The donkey doesn’t have to have any acting experience, it just needs to be well trained not to do what animals usually do in churches."
Anyone with a donkey to loan is asked to contact Reverend Snowball on 01923 772627.
