Neighbours shocked at discovery of dead body near Bushey Heath

Neighbours are shocked after a man’s body was found near Bushey Heath this morning.

Police were called to The Common, at 7.05am after reports a body had been found just off the A4140.

Up to seven police cars were at the scene where the London Ambulance Service pronounced the man dead.

A neighbour who did not wish to be named said: "It’s a very quiet area and this is the safest place to live.

"I’m shocked to hear that a dead body has been found especially as it’s a main road and there is always traffic."

Police have been asking if they saw anything suspicious and have been checking CCTV footage.

A cleaner working at neighbouring property said: "Nothing like this has ever happened before.

"I took the dog for a walk this morning and saw two police cars outside the house.

"Later officers knocked on my door to ask if I had seen anything and to take a look at the CCTV in the house."

The body has not yet been identified and a police investigation continues.
