Residents invited to new outdoor Padel Tennis Centre at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre
2:40pm Wednesday 20th March 2013 in News By Kathryn Snowdon, Reporter
The UK’s largest outdoor Padel Tennis Centre will open in Bushey on Saturday.
To celebrate the event, there will be a free open day at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre from 10am to 3pm.
With demonstrations from experienced players, free taster sessions and tips from top coaches, children can also enjoy free face painting and balloon modelling.
Padel Tennis, often described as a cross between tennis and squash, is a game of doubles played on Astroturf.
Hertsmere Leisure’s Contract Manager, Mark Munday, said: "Padel Tennis is the fastest growing sport in the world but very new to the UK so we are very excited to be bringing this opportunity for people to play in Hertfordshire."
He added: "It is a real family game because men, women and children can compete together without physical strength being the sole determinate of the winner.
We think it will take Hertfordshire and the rest of the UK by storm."
