Dacorum residents to celebrate Queen's coronation with Big Lunch

Charities and community groups in the borough of Dacorum are being asked to get involved in the council’s Big Coronation Lunch this summer.

People are being encouraged to run a stall at the community event, which could be anything from a cake or jewellery stall to a tombola or lucky dip.

Budding performers are also asked to get involved in the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation.

Sarah Hubbard, tenant involvement officer, who is helping to plan the event said: "We would like to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's coronation by bringing the community together.

"We would love for residents to get involved and be part of the celebrations".

At the event, there will be a display of photos, stories, films or memorabilia from the Queen's coronation. If residents remember the occasion in 1953 and have any stories or memorabilia that could be used, they are asked to get in touch.

The borough council’s Big Coronation Lunch will take place between midday and 4pm on Sunday June 2.
