Hare Krishna temple celebrates 40 years
The sound of music will float across Aldenham at a special celebration to mark the anniversary of a Hare Krishna temple.
Bhaktivedanta Manor, in Hilfield Lane, will be holding the ceremony to honour its 40 years at the site.
The event will include the chanting of 10,000 year old Sanskrit prayers, and singing to the sound of Indian drums and symbols.
People will be dressing up in colourful ancient costumes and 50 robed priests are also expected to attend the service.
During the event, the Hare Krishna’s will be taking part in a holy Hindu ritual called Yajna, where robed priests pour offerings of clarified butter into four sacred fires.
Residents are invited to take part in the celebrations on Sunday, March 24 at 10am.
