The Duke of Cambridge has officially opened the Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour by shutting a traditional film clapper board.

During his speech, which the Prince William made from a small stage at the site, he said: “All three of us have been very excited to be here with you today.

“So far it has exceeded our expectations.

“To be honest I’m over the moon to have seen the real Batmobile and Bat-Pod.”

He joked with members of the creative team and asked whether they made baby seats for the car.

He also requested that the directors and studio staff made a sequel to the popular films.

The Duke and Duchess, along with Prince Harry, were taken around the studio this morning and are currently looking around the Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour.

During his speech Prince William joked that his brother was most looking forward to seeing the owls that featured in the Harry Potter movies.

He said: “I haven’t actually told him that Harry Potter is actually fictional so please don’t let the secret out yet.

Prince William also praised JK Rowling, who wrote all seven of the original books, who was among today’s guests.
