South Oxhey residents were given advice on how to lead a healthy lifestyle at a recent NHS event as well as the opportunity to discuss their worries with experts.

The conversation event called "A healthy South Oxhey" took place on April 24 in All Saints Hall on Gosforth Lane.

The day was divided into two parts and started with a health information fair with various stalls offering information and experts on hand to give advice.

The second part was a discussion session where a wide range of issues including housing, antisocial behaviour, and accessing help to tackle mental health or addiction problems.

Dr Marie Anne Essam, a GP from the Pathfinder Practice in South Oxhey, said: "We were delighted by the strong response to this event from the public.

"Showcasing the many services that are available to people and enabling them to take control of their own health and wellbeing is a vital aspect of modern healthcare.

"We aim, through events such as this, to encourage patients to get involved with Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group so that they can truly be at the heart of healthcare and have an input into shaping health services in west Hertfordshire."
