A local rugby side has found a new home in Croxley Green.

The Chess Valley Rugby Football Club, currently based in Rickmansworth, signed a five-year agreement with the Croxley Guild of Sports on April 28 to play their home games in the village.

Frank Brand - Secretary of CGS and Parish Councillor confirmed that "We are all delighted to welcome the Rugby Club to our facility. This means that we can offer additional sporting opportunities to the families in our community. We are also really pleased that our social Calendar at the Guild will become even more varied and enjoyable".

Since its formation as a senior team in 1996, Chess Valley RFC has grown rapidly and currently has 220 children playing across nine age groups Phil Coulter, chairman for Chess Valley RFC, stated: "We are very pleased indeed to be able to implement this decision to move our home to Croxley Guild of Sport and continue to offer Rugby playing opportunities to the communities surrounding the Chess Valley."
