Results from last night’s by election for Abbots Langley parish council have been announced.

Liberal Democrat councillor Brenda Kersey was elected as the Abbots Langley ward representative with 656 votes.

Taking second place was Conservative Margaret Lambert who took 347 votes, followed by Labour candidate Ahmad-Said Namdarkhan with 199 votes.

For the Leavesden ward, Liberal Democrat councillor Martin Brooks was elected with the majority of 500 votes.

While UKIP candidate, David Bennet took second place with 180 votes, followed by Conservative representative Susan Clark who gained 166 votes and Labour candidate who picked up 122 votes.

For the Primrose Hill ward Labour candidate Bruce Prochnik and Liberal democratic representative Angela Laval went head to head.

Councillor Laval picked up the majority with 328 votes, while Mr Prochnik gained only 83 votes.
