More than 350 walkers made the most of the sunshine to enjoy picturesque scenery and raise money for a Northwood charity.

Volunteers raised more than £3,000 for the Paul Strickland Scanner Appeal which aims to help pay for a new PET CT scanner at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood which would be used for the diagnosis of cancer and serious diseases.

The five mile circular route leaving from Chenies Manor treated walkers to some of the finest views of the Chess Valley around Latimer and Sarratt.

Fundraising manager Rina Rawal said: "We’re delighted at the numbers of walkers who’ve turned out to support us and what great weather.

"Our marshals and volunteers have been very helpful and ensured everyone taking part has had an enjoyable day. "We’ve had lots of comments from walkers who really like taking part and are looking forward to next year."

The walk has been staged since 2003 with many people having participated in every year since its creation.
