A special pass-out parade was held for Watford students who completed 20 hours of fire fighting training.

Francis Combe Academy students took part in the course with Garston station’s red watch crew as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.

In total, 17 pupils attended the ten, two-hour sessions covering a range of fire service skills.

These covered a range of topics, including teambuilding exercises, practical fire skills, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguishing live-fire and road traffic collision exercises.

The course culminated in a pass-out parade attended by family, friends, academy staff and local councillors.

Following the parade the young people were presented with a certificate and a framed squad photograph.
