It was full steam ahead as more than 500 people set off for a model railway exhibition at a Bushey school on Saturday.
The 33rd Model Railway Exhibition for the South West Herts was held at Queen’s School in Aldenham Road.
The event, which ran from 10am to 4.30pm, had 20 layouts ranging from the Victorian period to modern day travel.
There were model trains set in various locations, including the UK, USA, Germany and Switzerland.
South West Herts Model Railway Exhibition secretary, Dennis Beach, said: "The day went really well and people seemed to really enjoy it. It was a great show and a good day out for adults and children."
Club member, Peter Hodge, said: "The accessibility of the event ensured that the show was busy throughout the day, with people who don’t necessarily have an interest in the railways attending alongside those who do."
Mr Hodge added: "Of particular interest was a model horse-drawn tramway set in the Isle of Man where the horse’s legs actually moved."
