Aldenham pupils have reached the regional finals of one of the largest chess competitions in the world.
Youngsters from Edge Grove, in Aldenham Village, have qualified for the regional megafinal of the Delancy UK Schools Chess Challenge, to be held on May 25 in Harpenden.
The chess competition attracts around 55,000 children from 1550 schools around the world and there are 41 megafinals in the UK.
There are 19 qualifiers from the school who, if they do well enough at the megafinals, go through to one of two gigafinals in July.
