Cash grants for health and wellbeing groups in Hertsmere
Cash grants are up for grabs for Hertsmere organisations which work to promote a healthy lifestyle.
The borough council has a £10,000 public health fund for health and wellbeing projects that benefit its residents.
Those who work to improve people’s health, such as offering services to combat the harmful effects of alcohol, reducing obesity or helping those with mental health problems, might be eligible for a cash grant.
Portfolio holder for leisure, culture and health, councillor Brenda Batten, said: "We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our communities and this new pot of money will allow us to fund projects which have a real impact on the ground.
"We can make grants of around £2,500 for specific health and wellbeing schemes so if you work in any capacity to improve and promote healthy living in Hertsmere please get in touch to see if we can help."
Grants can be given for revenue or capital projects but will not be given for general running costs.
The money is from central government via Hertfordshire County Council which gave £10,000 to each district in the county.
The deadline for applications is September 30. For more information visit www.hertsmere.gov.uk/healthfund or call 020 8207 7801.
