Cricket match in memory of Kings Langley teen Dale Butler in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young
An annual charity cricket match will be held on the upcoming bank holiday in memory of a teenager who died suddenly in 2009.
When Dale Butler, of Blackwell Road, Kings Langley, collapsed and died aged 18, the cause of death was recorded as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. Ever since, Dale’s mother, Angela Tennent-Butler, has organised an annual cricket match to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Mrs Butler is a member of Langleybury Cricket Club and "The Langleybury Ladies".
In addition to raising money for CRY, the women's team have decided to fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust, after the nephew of a player was diagnosed with a rare and terminal cancer.
The game is set to begin at 1pm on Monday, August 26. There will be a barbecue and fully licensed bar, as well as live music from local musicians and a raffle.
It will be held at Langleybury Cricket Club in Hunton Bridge.
