Bushey flats plan in Sparrows Herne could go ahead as Hertsmere Borough Council recommends approval
Council officers have recommended an application to build a block of flats in the place of two Bushey Heath period houses be approved by politicians.
No objections have been raised to the principle of redeveloping the White House and Cley House, in Sparrows Herne, to create flats.
The planning application, which proposes building 16 flats, is due to be heard at Hertsmere Borough Council’s planning meeting this evening.
In documents submitted to the council, officers state that: "The sitting, design and appearance of the proposal is considered acceptable and would not result in any undue impacts on the character and appearance of the surrounding area.
"The layout and design of the proposal, in association with conditions, would adequately mitigate and overcome any concerns relating to the impact upon neighbouring amenity.
"Car parking, refuse storage and cycle provision is considered to be sufficient."
The application is due to be heard at the council’s planning meeting at the Civic Offices, in Elstree Way, Borehamwood.
