Watford music group to help raise learning disability awareness at Purple Star Arts Festival
A Watford music group will be performing at the Purple Star Arts Festival next week.
As part of Learning Disability Awareness week, which runs from August 19 to 25, 200 Hertfordshire adults with learning disabilities will be taking part in the festival, which is the first event of its kind in the county.
The festival, which takes place on August 21, runs from 10am to 3pm.
The event will see 17 art, drama, community and theatre groups from across the county perform.
Watford performers, The New Beats, will take to the stage at 11.15am.
The New Beats have been working together for eight years writing and recording their own songs with the support of staff at West Herts College.
The festival will take place at The Fielder Centre, in Hatfield Avenue, Hatfield.
