A team of fundraisers are preparing to drive a pair of old bangers 1,500 miles across Europe to raise funds for a Northwood charity.
The team will leave Mount Vernon Hospital in Rickmansworth Road at 10am on Thursday (August 22) to begin their Ramshackle Rally trip to Valencia.
The participants have chosen to raise money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre - based at the hospital - after a close friend recently underwent cancer treatment there.
According to the rules of the event, cars must not cost more than £200 and must drive 1,500 miles in four days.
The rally culminates with La Tomatina, an annual festival with a huge tomato fight in the streets of Buñol.
